Jabal Mags (pronounced Ma-gas), or Fort Mount Magas in English

Historical Destination - Fort Mount Mags, designed for vigilant observation, is a guardian prepared to protect the land and its inhabitants. It is perched on a hill, offering a commanding view of Al Haqo, nearby towns, the surrounding hills, ridges, and expansive farmlands and parks.

Once, the villagers' fortress was shielded from attackers, intruders, and looters. History speaks of the land's fertility and the abundance of food for the people. The tropical climate of Jazan ensured that the place rarely experienced food shortages, as people could grow crops that yielded plentiful harvests and raise livestock.

While people in other places suffer from food scarcity, villagers here enjoy a land bounty. Strangers attack, intrude, and loot only in search of food, as fights and defences often break out; this fortress saves the lives of the villagers.

Today, this fortress has become a significant attraction on the mountainsides of Jazan. It has concrete road access and a viewing and parking area for visitors to enjoy sightseeing. Visitors can overlook the vast lands from the foot up to the distance the eyes can see.

It would be best to ensure the car engine is in good running condition, as the road has a steep incline to climb on your way to the top.

Driving eighty-one (81) km away from Jazan for one hour, the magnificent landscape and the winding and rolling roads are bonus treats when you come to this place.

How To Get Here

For those coming from outside the province of Jazan, you need to do these steps:

1. Book a flight or travel by land to Jazan City

2. From Jazan City, drive to the town of Al Haqo

3. Reaching the village of Al Haqo, you will find this fortress already.
